Medical Problems

stano40 Oct 13, 2005 06:25 PM

I have a new African Spur tortoise and after searching through dozens of web sites, forums, and care sheets I still am wondering if there are any medical problems that the sulcata is prone too other than respitory which I read about.

My tortoise was checked by a qualified vet and we only found a parasie, which she is being treated for.

Thanks
bob

Dehydration/'stones' and MBD are probably your biggest concerns.

Thanks EJ,

I have my new baby girl on calcium and a tortoise vitamin. I also read that you can give them cuttle bones also for calcium. Have you ever heard of that? I'm also planning to pick up some mazuri, but I've never used it before.
