Hi,
I got back from a trip to Eastern Oregon(The desert) This morning(night) at one o'clock. I left Sunday. I went to the Devils Garden, it's a big lava flow covered with Juniper and sagebrush. It was a little cool but I did see some lizards. Sorry I don't have scientific names. I saw Sagebrush lizards, and sideblotched lizards. When there was no clouds it got down in the low twenties at night, but warmed up a lot during the day. The Devils Garden is just north of Christmas valley(If anyone knows were that is.) At night I did catch a Kangaroo rat(not sure what spieces yet, either Ord's, California, or Chistle toothed.) It is very tame and can be handled. Kangaroo rats and pocket mice aren't actually mice or rats. They are closer to squrrels and gophers. I will try to get a pic of him on here soon.

My husband and I saw a baby Kangaroo rat over in the House Mtn. Range, Utah earlier this year. I tried to make it jump, but the critter was just to tame. My husband wanted to keep it but didn't. I didn't know there were different species.
