Pics on classified (Screameleons)

west Oct 14, 2005 12:33 AM

Are the pics that I see on the classifieds, specifically Screameleons, the colors that they display on a daily basis, or is that when they are scared, angry, or displaying for a female?

This may be an ignorant question, but then again I am ignorant about Chameleons. Thanks for your comments.

Most commercial pics of chams show them when excited, display, or gravid mode, as their full color "potential" shows best then. The difference between calm normal coloration and excitement can be extreme. You could look on the following websites for pics of different species in their more normal look (or at least the pic will be labeled that way). Try looking the species up on these sites:

What species/locale are we talking about?

Hey,

Yea, Screameleon's chameleons are great. The colors of their chams are when they are fired up, usually they show it another male. Spectacular....

I really don't think you'll get them to comply with that request. This is Gabe. He is a Blue Bar Ambilobe that came from Screamleons. He is the son of Tessai. He is relaxed in this photo. He hasn't gone off very often yet, he is still young and doesn't seem to be interested in the ladies yet.

I put him on my head and walked into the bathroom and he went ballistic up there. Snarling at me and the other guy he saw in the mirror. He looks a lot like his father then. The green turns to yellow and he gets a lot of red on the underside and he just seems to glow.
