Do you know if anyone has determined whether or not that albino rainbow boa is a brazilian?

Jose,
...It is a Colombian. I saw one that Ricardo had at the Daytona Expo and it was amazingly beautiful.

Jeff,

Thanks for the info. I never saw ricardo or the albino at the show.

By the way, Do know if there are any albino brazilians out there?

Jose,
....Lots of rumors. Most of them based on incorrectly reported facts. AKAIK there were one or two albino BRBs imported during the late 80s to early 90s and both died before breeding. There was a snake that was collected in Guyana late last year and reportedly imported this year. It was supposed to be a Brazilian. The PICs that I saw of it looked like a Guayanan Rainbow but I am really not sure. There was an albino Argentinian Rainbow imported perhaps 5 or 6 years ago. I am not sure what happened with it but I have heard rumors of albino BRBs based upon that snake. Ricardo Rubio has produced albino Colombian Rainbows from his imported albino and it's het sibling. I saw albino Colombian Rainbows on Brian Sharp's pricelist this year, but AFAIK he has not produced any yet. There are quite a few photos of albino Rainbows floating around on the internet. I have seen the same photo labled as two different subspecies. The problem as I see it is that there are many people spreading rumors. They hear about an albino Rainbow Boa and tell someone it was an albino BRAZILIAN Rainbow Boa. There have been many rumors spun off of these snakes and perhaps others. I really am not sure what all the facts are.

Jeff,

Thanks for all the info / facts about the albino rainbow boas. It's nice to know that you have remained up to date with all thats going on with all the different rainbow boa morphs.

Many years ago I was blessed with the opportunity to go to high school in Venezuela, where I obtained my first pair of rainbow boas (colombians), which I managed to breed. At that time I started working part time at the serpentarium in the city of Maturin, where I became aquainted with venomous and brazilians.
For as long as I can remember, Rainbow boas have always been my favorite herp and ever since I moved back to the U.S. I've been tring to perfect the applied sciences in breeding this magnificent species.

With much anticipation I can only hope for new morphs to spring out of our increased and dedicated efforts to reproduce this species and all the sub-species that make up the RAINBOW BOAS / Epicrates .

I am fairly new to this website / forum, and I just wanted to send my appreciation to you and everyone else on this forum who has provided their knowledge and expertise to help others in the continued cycle of caring and breeding this species.

Thanks, Jose
