5'x1' cage big enough?

shanetram Oct 14, 2005 09:12 AM

Hello all,

I have 2 year old male mali uromastyx that I am fostering for my younger brother while he's away at school for the next few years. I have spent a great deal of time learning about the species and it's proper care. I love the little guy and want to make sure he's happy and healthy. In my research I've found that a 4'x 2' cage would be ideal but my small apartment won't be able to accomdate that. The place I need to put his cage is 5'L x 18"W. I have found a 5'L x 1'W x 18"H used cagesbydesign cage near me for a great price that will fit perfectly but will that be ok for him? My other option is a 4'L x 18"W x 18"H but that's going to cost me alot more to go and get. What do you think? Thanks in advance for you help. Once I get him in his new home I'll post some pics.

well, my only concern is that it is a male and some males can get up to like 12-15 inches long and it might be a little difficult for him to turn around. how long would you say he is now?
