ok had my crested for 5 days

jonthefb Jul 21, 2003 01:33 AM

hello again everyone....well its been 5 days since ive received my little red crested and it seems to be enjoying life...(from what i can tell) it spends most of the day hiding under a corkbark hut and most of the night on some choya wood branches...at first i tried feeding the little guy some strained baby banana food, which it didnt seem to like....then i tried apricot a few days later, and although i havent seen him eat it personally, the food container is getting lower and lower...i also threw half a dozen pinhead crickets in there and only have 2 left running around, and they couldnt have possible gotten out, which leaves me to believe that the little fella ate them! how hot is too hot for cresteds? the tank fluxes between 76 and 82 degrees throughout the day...is this too hot? i spray mist the little fella down about three times a day. for the most part he just stays under his cork bark during the day but at night comes out and roams about!
any suggestions? i am just worried about the little guy!
thanks in advance all!
jon

I just recently aquired a sub-adult female crested. From what I've read baby crested gecko's should not be exposed to temps above 80 for any length of time. Humidity should stay between 65-80% My female readily takes baby food (apricot, peach, banana) and crickets. Good luck!
