kinda urgent question...?

i got a tiger sally yesterday and i havent tyred to touch him or anything till today.i touched him and freaked out!he did wat looked to me try to bite me.is this normal?like is it just stress?

probably. the only salamander i have seen try to bite was on tv, the japanese giant salamander, 5 feet long. that one tried to bite them when the scientists tried to measure it. it is possible that they would try to bite, they cant defend themselves with claws or anything like that. i wouldnt worry about it though. give him more time to settle and make sure your hands are wet, even then keep the handling to a minimum.
