Dart frog market

chameleoncrow Jul 21, 2003 01:53 AM

My post might sound insensitive to dart frog lovers, but i was just wondering about the market size of these little gems. Is there anyone out there who has sold their babies before? I would like to hear of your experiences. Are they easily sellable, or are they pretty hard to sell?Is it easy selling them to wholesalers? Is it at least the slightest profitable? Which particular Dart frog is the best choice, business wise. Don't worry, I wouldn't buy herps with intent just to make money out of them, I would acquire one because i love herps. Just wanted to know how well they sell. Any thoughts?

There is a pretty large market for dart frogs even the less expensive auratus, you shouldn't have a problem selling any of the thumbnail frogs. Petstores usually don't buy darts because they think they are to hard to take care of, so I usually sell them to blackjungle or tincs.com, or if you have enough to sell you can get a table at a reptile show.
