could any fellow herpers out there give me some advice on posting a photo and the allowed file size.thanks chip

Go to the photo gallery. The link is in the menu at the top of the page. Once at the photo gallery there is a link to "upload photos". When you post on any of the forums there will be a menu where you can choose any pic (up to three I think) you have uploaded to include in your post. There is a second way where you can use html brackets or what ever they are called. This method is found under the "tools and toys" link at the bottom of the text window when you are posting.

You can format your posts and signature using BBCode. Here are some common examples:

You type	Result
`[b]Bold text[/b]`	Bold text
`[i]Italic text[/i]`	Italic text

Keep things readable and family‑friendly; staff may edit signatures or posts that affect thread readability.
