I currently have an 05 blizzard male and an 05 amelanistic female possible het for anery A (one of her parents was a snow). I am currently looking to increase my possiblities in morphs for my first generation beyond the current choices. Do any of you professional breeders have any advice on what other morphs would mix best with these two? I am trying to look into butter/lavender/bloodred possibilites (maybe purchase another pair?). I want to have a few choices down the road other than just white and red/orange snakes...

Also are there any books that you recomend? (I'm going to get the Corn Snake Morph Guide sometime down the road.)

LoL I dont know anything at all about breeding since I just got my FIRST snake today but that KAT lady or guy wrote a wonderful guide to different morphs, she could of profitted off of it lol. But anyway its on this page I believe and was adressed to goregrind.

Not 100% but I THINK that if you breed the two you have they will be het butter.....

Blizzard (Amel Charcoal) x Amel het Anery = Amel het Charcoal possible het Anery

Breed the F2s and you have the possiblity to produce Amel, Anery, Blizzard and Charcoal offspring.

Amel x Caramel = Butter
Lavender is a single recessive mutation
Bloodred is a single co-dominant mutation

Your best bet would to be purchase a completely different pair.
If you want the option of producing two different morphs from a single pair, I would suggest a Lav het Blood and a Blood het Lav. But, you would be talking about a $1000 price tag for the pair. If you want to take the longer route, you can purchase a Lav and a Blood and produce in your f2 generation double het for Lav Blood. Breed the f2's together and you have the possibility to produce Lavs, Bloods and Lav Bloods.

It really all comes down to what you want.

I also wanted to add, if your one of your Amel's parents was a Snow...Then your little girl is definitely het for Anery.
