Well I saw one snake...it was alive and doing well. I am sure it was a cal king...well pretty sure. It was white with black bands. But in between each black band was a slight blotch of red. Strange..I have not seen one like that in that location or any for that matter. So you experts out there... hit me with your wisdom. Thank you.

Cal Kings don't have any red on them. Some longnosed snakes are black and white banded with some hints of red (although it is usually within the white blotches).

I do alot of herping in So. Calif. The snake you described definetly sounds like a Longnose snake.
