A group of friends and I went out to southwestern NM and southeastern AZ for a few days. Lots of cool things. Here are pics of some of our finds.

....& I still put up w/ dialup ....thnx for taking the trouble to post em...RxR
As always Eric, a real treat! So much beauty in the desert and mountains! I've been to Philmont scout reservation and caught my first green viridus. Went skiing at the Inn of the Mountain Gods and it was awesome! New Mexico is definitely on my list of places to want to retire!

Duh! Your post is entitled from Az. Whoops, but New mexico is as close as I've been!

Very nice pics and the Chiricahuas look great! Especially liked the garter, as no one posts them. Thanks!

....get a grip lad...& it looks like youve got a good one there....but eventually ya gotta let go...& all i am needing to warn (especially the young-uns)...if you handle vipers..youre going to get bit....the only variable is when...

No doubt about it, though I still have 9 good digits! Lost 2/3's of the right index to a wdb 2 years ago. Still going after it but taking the more cautius approach nowadays! Good advice to youngsters and nonpros... if you value your life, digits, appendages, etc. don't handle venomous without your undivided attention! I miss my finger more than anyone can know, but have learned to adapt. Funny thing is I traded a really big, I mean REALLY BIG wdb for a more handleable one! LOL! The one I got schooled me on the lesson of the dynamite comes in small packages! Really, though not for the faint at heart.

Didn't get to take photos of some other cool stuff like Crotalus pricei, Masticophis bilineatus, etc. Hope you enjoyed.
Great photos! I was able to spend some time in the Chiricahua's, and it is truly an amazing place.
Was that L. pyromelana in the tree when you found it?

Thanks! Yeah, the pyro in the tree was exactly how I found it. I've found a couple before in New Mexico, but I still got anxious and accidently put my camera in full manual mode. So I didn't get the exposure dead on. Oh well. But yeah, it was a pretty nice place and I'll be going back someday soon.
that pyro in the tree belongs in a book somewhere!! (hint)
Forky
I'll do that soon enough! Along with a few others.
