Millie's Poor Little Feet

lizard_lover Oct 15, 2005 06:02 PM

She doesn't have much left, to say the least, but the lack of toes doesn't seem to slow her down at all.

She's my little trooper.

It looks like she's eating well. You've done a great job with her.

so are they healed up now and the infection has stopped?
my twisted sense of humor is kicking in and a full name came to mind--miss millie nubs. if my sister had not thought of turtlehead for the uro last names, i would probably call helga that
helga's foot, but both back feet are this way

Miss Millie Nubs is cute

Her feet are pretty much healed, but there is still some discoloration, which I fear could be a lingering infection. She's been on antibiotics (her second round) for two weeks already, but I'm not going to stop the medication until the color looks better to me. The infection already came back once, I don't want to see it a third time!

Thanks for sharing the picture. It's nice to know that Eve and I aren't the lizard moms to disabled lizards

YOUR help and Special Care, The will to live is quite amazing with many creatures, some indure so much, you have to give your all to see that they get what they need and then some, our special little friends.

My Hooty the disabled female chuckwalla hardly has any digits , on the front feet, she was born that way, never developed. They learn to get by.

You have done an excellent job, beefing her up , I'm sure she's getting stronger physically which will help her battle this infection, (hopefully) it has done all it will do.

Best wishes with Millie

She look's so sweet. Sad about her little feet thou. May I ask what happened? I just got a 8 month old male, and what a sweet boy he is (he's my first). As soon as I learn how to get a picture on here I will show him off.
Again you have a cutey and glad she don't seem to be bothered by her little feet.
Hug's,

Hi, Babydragon

What are the numbers behind your name? Is that a birthday by any chance? October 23rd is my sister's birthday, so I was just curious.

Congratulations on your new boy. They are sweet--every single one of them. I even love my little "spaz," Miles, who hisses and gapes at me if I startle him. They're such little characters. I can't wait to see your guy.

When I got Millie, she was a rescue. Somebody who was selling collareds just let me have her because she was in such bad shape. She was extremely emaciated and had an infection in the skin above her eye and in her toes when she arrived. I thought for sure she was going to die, and even told my daughter to prepare herself . . . but Millie held on despite everything. It's taken months of intensive care, but she looks like a completely different lizard now. The toe/foot infection is the only lingering sign of what she went through.

Here's a picture of when she arrived:

What spirit and will she has to survive!

I am sure glad you found her, except those toes she's looking so much better.
