HELP, very frustrated and confused!

matt_fl Oct 15, 2005 07:44 PM

There is this boa morph that I've seen lots of pictures of but none of them say what the morph is called. It has a broken stripe going down the back. The stripe is made up of connected saddles. The saddles that are seperate from eachother are square shaped, and shaded fairly inconsistantly. The little triangles that are usually present on a boa next to the saddles are tiny, sparse, and on the boa's back rather than it's sides. If ANYONE has an idea of what morph this is, and/or knows anything about it, please , share it with me.
Thank you.

Post a picture, or a link to where you have seen this "morph"
it will help a lot.

Here's a link to a picture of a red one. I've seen ones that aren't red but they're the same pattern. The web address calls this a striped boa, but I'm used to striped boas having a more solid stripe. I'm not very good at making links (or anything else that has to do with computers), so if there is no link, just copy and paste the address to that place on the screen where you type web addresses.

your links need to be seperated, I figured out how to see the pic. The boa is a striped boa, it could and probably is a genetically striped boa. This one is really orange too. Jungles can produce patterns like this too. By the way here is the pic I got to work.

How much would a boa like that, without the red, usually cost???
Thank you.

I am yet to here an estimate of the price for such a boa( the broken striped morph pictured on other posts in this thread). Does anyone know how much they cost? I saw one on the advertisement for burk boas but when I looked on the website there were none. So why were they on the advertisement(a rhetorical question)?

Trueredtails Oct 16, 2005 05:35 PM

Prices can vary quite a bit. I have no clue how much a boa like that would sell for. I have paid 800-1500 for striped BCC's not really knowing if it was genetic. For a BCI like that I will just guess maybe 100-500 for a baby and 500-1000 for a adult and ones with color like the one pictured maybe even more. The thing is you dont see too many for sale or at least I dont.

My favorite boa morph is reverse stripe. I think that's what it's called anyway. I'll describe what I'm thinking. It's the trait where most of the boa is normal but the red saddles near the tail form two stripes down the sides and between them it is plain with no markings. Does anyone have PICS, or know WHERE TO GET THEM, or know HOW MUCH THEY COST??? I've seen pictures of this trait in guyanas and colombians. The guyanas were KILLER!

Trueredtails Oct 15, 2005 08:28 PM

The prices can vary for revers striped boas, guyana's with reverse strips can cost allot of money depending on the color and pattern. Here is a pic of mine....not really sure the exact origin of this boa but all I do know is that he is awesome. Later

That is my FAVORITE morph! Can you give me an idea of the price range for colombians or guyanas? Yours looks as good as any of the guyanas I've seen and that, combined with the peaks, tells me it is a guyana. Check the belly, If it's heavily mottled (forgive my spelling), you can be fairly certain it's a guyana.

He was sold to me as a Suri. The pattern and some of the color look BCC to me but the head, body shape and growth rate tell me somthing else. I paid 1500 for him

What type of gene is it (recessive, co-dominant, ect.)?

Trueredtails Oct 18, 2005 03:44 PM

I was told it was genetic and almost all the babies in the litter had reverse stripes and laddertails. I have no clue if it is codom or recesive or if it really is genetic.

He is an orange 03'. His sister is one of the most yellow boas I have ever seen. I may have a litter in 06' from some older ones.

matt_fl Oct 16, 2005 08:01 AM

How much were they? also, if you have a litter, let me know
