New to Leos, genetics question

FireDrake Oct 16, 2005 11:12 AM

Is there any website that has a good explanation of the various leo morphs and how they are inherited? I'm especially curious about hypo and super hypo, what exactly makes a super hypo? I'm used to ball pythons, so it makes me wonder if hypo is co-dom???

Thanks!!!

Sarah

The LGR is currently working on a standards section.

It is currently incomplete but at last descriptions should be complete tonight.

I also noticed, the site that was provided first has some incorrect information. Jungle/Stripe/Reverse stripe are not recessive mutations.

Hypo's of all types are line bred and not (co-dom) but may appear so when out bred.Like if you breed a (normal x hypo)the baby are likely to be off hi-yellow type's maybe you would get some hypo's.Breed a (normal x super hypo) babys are likely to be a mix of hi-yellow's,hypo's,maybe some super hypo type's.Breed a (hypo x super hypo) babys are likely to be hypo's,some super hypo types.
But in a nut shell .
[A hi-yellow is a line bred normal][A hypo is a line bred hi-yellow][A super hypo is a line bred hypo][A super hypo baldy is a line bred super hypo].
