Jalisco Milk vs Apricot Pueblan vs Honduran

wpglaeser Oct 16, 2005 09:34 PM

I got a new snake today. It's deli cup was marked as a Jalisco Milk Snake, but every picture I see of a Jalisco has white bands, whereas mine are yellow. It's a gorgeous snake. When I look at pics of Apricot Pueblans, the head looks wider than mine and the coloring is a bit different.

Mine has a completely black head with a small band of yellow behind it, then a larger black band, followed by the red/black/yellow/black.

I'll post pics soon, so the ID is easier... but thoughts for now?

... on herpscope.com:

Description: Brilliantly ringed with black, white (or pale yellow) and red bands. The red bands are sometimes interrupted dorsally by the black bands. Head black, with or without scattered light flecking. Scales smooth, in 19-23 rows. Anal plate single.

So, I guess yellow is ok... only mine is more than pale yellow. It's a rich deep yellow/gold. Similar to Apricot Pueblan color. Man...what a sweet deal at $20 !!!
