It depends on the type. My understanding is that the microlepsis can get to be about 2 ft, while the Aegyptius can reach almost 3 feet. They are significantly sized lizards and need living spaces that can comfortably house them. I currently have a juvenile Aegyptius in a 4ft x 2ft tank, and he will not be comfortable in a tank that size for many years.

I good place to read up a little bit on the Egyptians is http://www.deerfernfarms.com/Uromastyx_Egyptian.htm Doug Dix and Lindsay Pike (www.urotopia.com) both breed them and are very knowledgable. I have worked with Lindsay and been quite happy.

I hope that helps somewhat. Make sure that you have the room & desire to house and care for a 2-3 foot lizard before you commit to an Egyptian. With that said though, I wouldn't trade mine for the world.
