Hi! I have four Panther Chameleons (Ambanja, Ambilobe, Nosy Bé) and Iam always buying more from my breeder. This huge interest started a year ago and it is still growing. The first two Ambanja 1.1 were truly small and as a result of this the female died (I do blame myself and the fact that she was weak from the start). The male Ambanja on the other hand, he was truly a fighter with a nice attitude... he ate, drank and grew up to become a pride for his keeper. Ever since he was born, he have had problem with one of the eyes. This have never stopped him before... Since he became older he started to eat less, but still within the 'nutrionrate'. Now he is thin, but in no danger... he has a firm grip and nice round legs!

He shed his skin two weeks ago and something got into his 'good' eye! He became blind! Under the period of two days, I washed his eye (camomillthé etc.) and the misting system was on under a long time. Next day the eye was perfect again. He started to eat again, (not much but three or four crickets etc.) My female Ambanja also showed her receptive colours, so I started to mate them. It went very well... (So far they have copulated three times, she is still showing receptive colours). Now a problem has accourd! His eye has become ill again and he is not eating... I have started to give him a small dosage of a Gent-Ophtal (german eye antibiotics), cause my breeder tells me that he has a infection in the eye. Have anyone of you keepers and breeders of Panther Chameleons experienced that your male Panthers has stopped eating during the 'mating' period.
Yours Sincerely
Daniel (Sweden)
