Okay, maybe a little off topic but I guess milk snakes qualify as little kings
Anyhow this is a nice example of a triangulum x syspila intergrade I found behind the house this morning.
Cheers, Phil

Beautiful Phil. Great find at your house. Excellent finding beauties like that in suburban Louisville. I really love the North American Milks, so it's a treat to see these little gems. I also have a question for you, so I'm sending you an email. Great find.

Thanks Steve. Something else I find interesting about these snakes is this. The friend of mine who owns the property is an avid outdoorsman that farms, hunts and generally grew up in the area yet he had never seen a milk snake before. These snakes are very secretive. With the exception of finding one crossing a road late at night one summer, every milk snake I have ever seen has been under something. Tin, boards, rocks etc...Phil
Wow! Beautiful Milk Phil.
Thanks Sean. It really stood out in the leaf litter beneath the big metal it was found under. I thought I was going to get skunked. It was under the last piece of AC out of 15. phil
Cool looking milk, Phil. Pretty neat they're still active there. Ours have been inactive since September.
Here's one from our Afton property for comparison...

Nice looking eastern Terry. I have always appreciated a well marked triangulum.
here mid Sept until mid late Oct is a good time to see milk snakes. Not quite as good as the spring but much better than summer. Phil
NIIIICE one, Phil! Thanks for sharing that. So it's not getting chilly up there yet? Still a few more weeks of season?

Thanks Todd. The nights are down in the 40's but the day time highs are still in the 70's. We usually find snakes through Nov but the numbers really start slowing down then.
Is that a Mexican milk? Its quite a looker. Phil
Yeah that's a female found in Live Oak county, Tx. this spring. Thanks, Phil. She is currently on a walkabout. Need to coax her out with some glass lizards. Here's my generic male.

Nice snakes and all, really, but I didn't come to this forum to be entertained by milksnakes. Is this some type of infiltration move to see if the moderators are paying attention? lol.
