I belive both are active baker's yeast, as opposed to the Brewers yeast you can get in health food stores as a source of vitamin B, which has been inactivated or spent and is a different species. In any event, the Baker's yeast you can purchase in any grocery store does perfectly well for feeding springtails and lacing fruit fly media just before culturing. (Some fruit fly media formulas call for Brewer's yeast in the mixture as well as lacing the top with active Baker's yeast.)

You could ask the people at Ed's Fly Meat if what they provide is anything different from Baker's yeast, but I don't believe it is.
