Situation....Eastern Female Double Clutched on me. She laid eggs on 9-6, and ate on 9-9. Since then she has refused any food. She shed on 10-2 and weighed 3.5 oz. I have now resorted to force feeding her pinkies. I am trying to give her small food items so I do not stress her system. She is listless, but still alive. I have increased her heat, is there anything else I can do to give her a chance?

There is something that most vets carry that is called hills diet a/d. It is generally used for sick cats and dogs but when it is diluted, it makes for a good slurry for sick herps. I nursed a poisioned whites tree frog back from death on it.
You can feed your girl some of this by diluteing it in half with water and starting her out on one syringe full every few days. It may be a good plan to also add a little extra calcium supplement into the mix before feeding her. My worry is that her calcium stores have depleated vastly due to the double clutch and she hasnt been able to replenish them because she hasnt eaten. Since mice are entire meals in themselves one doesnt need to supplement a snake more than maybe once a year. But in this case, since she has laid eggs 2x and not eaten, she may have a bit of a ca defincincy.
Using this mix may give her a start that she needs. Make sure not to over load her system tho. More times than not, an overzealous but well meaning owner will shock a reptiles system by giving them to much of a good thing.
My other thought (which may be easier) is that she may not want to eat mice any more. Easterns usually prefer toads. Was she wc or cb? That may be a factor too. Good luck and keep us updated. jen
