I placed one of my male D. m rubidus into the enclosure of my largest female and she pinned him!
I posted a photo of this last year, posted once again below, but this year it's a bit different, as she not only pinned the male, but initiated the twitching action while doing so.
Has anyone else witnessed this sort of behavior from their female Drymarchon spp. during breeding efforts?

was the female's behavior mating effort or dominance - did they hook up with the male pinned by the female ?

Pinning is always a sign of dominance, even when mating, though it's normally the male which takes the initiative. This was definitely mating behavior, as the female also initiated body twitching and cloacal alignment.
I know what is going on, just want to know if anyone else has observed such behavior from their females, as having worked with Drymarchon spp. for over 20 years, I have yet to encounter such behavior on behalf of a female.
Oh yeah, they did lock up...

At least they hooked up, just hope she didn't emasculate him to the point where he won't mate again. LOL

I don't know about Indigos, but a dozen years ago in college I tended to run into females with the same general disposition. I thought that generally this was an interesting trait in Homind females.
