Acquiring 2 6yr old Leos, need advice

tanias16 Oct 18, 2005 03:37 PM

A coworker may be giving me her 2 leopard geckos.
She says they are very friendly and her kids use to handle them alot but lately have lost interest in them.
I am wondering, are there any disadvantages of getting a 6 yr old leopard gecko? Will the be so bonded to their previous owners that they will not bond to me? I know that is a stupid question, but I have always gotten my reptiles at young ages.
Thakns

I got 2 of my leopard geckos when they were 6 years old, and I was in 8th grade. They are now both 15 years old and doing great, although Booda, the girl, has a cataract. They are also male and female. They were skittish with me when I first got them but quickly got over it and have no problems being held. Be warned, they are addictive, I now have 5 geckos total (and would love more, but have to stop somewhere!).
