After posting several times, i finally bought an 7" Aldabra Tortoise from Strictly Reptiles, Seems to be a nice healthy guy, For those of you who keep them, what do you guys use as a substate? thanks

i adore these guys... if only i had the space and the money for one! i just have to settle for visiting the ones at zoo atlanta and waving at them through the fence (if only i could climb it to pet one, and not get caught, kicked out, police called on me, etc... ). congrats on your baby!

Any kind of hay is your best choice for a substrate.

Ed, Don't i want somthing that stores humidity well? Its very hard to find a good caresheet on these guys, also if i get hay, should i just keep it dry or spray it often to add some humidity to it? thanks

Hopefully You're keeping the guy outdoors for part of the day. As long as you got a waterbowl hydration should not be a problem.
