What is this???

Well, I found mites in my new baby's cage, so provent-a-mite is on the way. I did a quick clean of his enclosure, soaked all of his stuff and only put the snake and water dish back in the cage with a paper towel substrate. Once the mite spray arrives, I'll be doing a better cleaning. I also soaked him in a tub for about 30mins and noticed 3 or so mites left in the water afterwards.

Upon closer inspection, I also noticed this weird looking thing on his head. I tried to remove it both with a Q-tip and with my finger, but I didn't want to stress my baby too much. Any ideas as to what it could be?

can't really see but could easily be some infection from mite bites.

Possibly leftover from previous bad shed? I'd give it a couple sheds before I really started worrying about the thing on it's head.
I hope everything works out and you're able to eradicate those pesky mites

There are much cheaper and better alternatives to the prevent a mite. Feel free to email me for more information. You can buy it from Walgreen's and it is 100% safe.
