Dude, look into getting a Jungle Carpet Python. They are semi-Arboreal (Mine is always in his branches), they get to about 6-7 feet in length depending on Male or Female, they are very beautiful, dolcile (Babies can be nippy but mine never bit me), great display animals, and they are very easy to care for. If you are looking for a snake that's easy to care for then I do not suggest getting a GTP or ETB until you've done your homework and you're prepared to handle the responsibility.

I have two jungle carpet pythons and really love them both. They are my favorite snake. Recently I've considered getting either a green tree python or a tree boa. That's why I asked the question on this forum comparing the tempermant of both. I asked the question in both forums. While both are beautiful display snakes, it sounds like if you want one that you can handle as well to go with a GTP. Then of course you have to get the GTP from the right local, lol. That seems to be for the most part the Sorong, I probably misspelled that. But if you get one that's captive bred from that local that has docile parents, then you have a pretty good chance of getting a docile, beautiful snake.

hi,
get both they are wonderful animals. I can warn you that getting into any reptile can lead into a addiction. Its is very hard to have only one! lol I have a pair of Basin Emerald Tree Boas, they are about a year and a half plus old and never have they bitten me they are very tame. My chondros are same but i have been bitten at feeding time not there fault they werent going after me. i dropped the rat with my tweezers attempted to get it and boom. two little pin holes that bled for half a second. it was more scaryer than painful but it all happend in a split second, i couldnt help but laugh after. I do know that the boas have much bigger teeth and i wouldnt want to get bitten My female chondro can be a little grumpy but once out of her cage shes fine. it is possible to get bitten buy any snake especially at feeding time. nobody wants to get bitten. these guys feed at night and in the dark with a flashlight can be a little tricky. i suggest you look around for a captive bred baby or yearling from a breeder. get a book or two and get both lol! good luck!
