Is it hard to ween chameleon on dead food, like pre frozen krickets or some kind of dry reptilefood. ?

A very bad idea for a couple of reasons. Dead food won't attract the cham's attention because it does not move...cham's eyesight is very tuned to motion. For this reason also chams don't tend to use water bowls but need dripping moving water. Also, dead food is no where near as nutritious as live gutloaded healthy prey and gives the cham nothing to do. Tongue problems, boredom, and muscle atrophy can result. If you don't want to deal with caring for live insect prey a cham won't be a good choice for a pet.
