SUPER SPLIT SADDLES

serpentdan Oct 19, 2005 07:12 PM

This little girl is one of this year's stars. I've never seen a thayeri quite like this one....her saddles are dramatically split giving her the appearance of a high single band count. When she crawls along her pattern almost becomes an optical illusion. I predict this thayeri will be "frightening" as an adult. The color in the light center area of her saddles is already turning PINK! I really wanted to keep her but I can't keep everything. A lucky fellow in the Pacific NorthWest snatched her up quick. Thanks for looking.

Dan,
Awesome snake. I saw that and wanted it immediately......then you closed with the ever famous..."sorry it's been sold". Do you have more clutches to hatch yet or are you done hatching snakes for the year?

Thanks,
Russ

Hey Russ,

I'm all hatched-out for 2005. Are you looking for something specific?

Everything about that little female is noteworthy. Spectacular high count split saddles that are uniform from head to tail, fantastic keyholed nuchal and head pattern that finishes it all off. You produced a male in 2003 that was very similar in pattern to this girl... Lmt2003d05. Referring to these traits, that '03 male would rate about a 7 compared to this '05 female... she's a 10 plus animal without question.

Fantastic looking thayeri. And after all these years, you still get these exciting surprises!

You know my collection better than I do Mike! Thanks for the kind words. It will be hard to pack this girl up and ship her off. She also ate a pink before her first shed... Talk about the perfect thayeri!

Hopefully I can make some more in 2006. DV

In some spots its hard to figure out what is a split saddle and what's back ground. Very unique.

Yeah Chris, very true. That's what makes her look like she has a high band count. I gotta feeling I'm gonna kick myself for letting this one go.

Dan

PS. Very Cool Web Site Chris. I've checked it out a few times already.

You must have some kind of will power to let that beauty go.
Don't be too hard on yourself though. No need to punish yourself. We'll do that for you. YOU'RE CRAZY TO SELL THAT ONE, FOOL. LOL

Thanks for the compliment on my website. Did you notice any that look familar? LOL

I've got your webite saved on my favorites. I'm glad you did'nt change the format. I like how you show the parent snakes and the offspring.

Did you get out of greybands and desert kings completely?

I know I'm crazy to sell her but I have to fund my Australian python habit. I can always make more.....I hope.

I still have a small collection of alterna. Had a bad season with those this year. Only one clutch of F1 Lajitas. Check 'em out: http://www.serpentsonline.com/available_alterna.htm
