Is it normal for a gecko to lick... itself?

Siminix Oct 19, 2005 07:35 PM

I think it might be a shedding issue, but my gecko is licking her... area at the base of the tail. Normal or not?

If it's every now and then, yes - it's normal. Just as dogs and cats like to be clean, so do geckos.

If it's frequent or non-stop, then it could indicate a problem such as a prolapse or possible parasites.
