question about fur bark?

micahdenton Oct 19, 2005 10:35 PM

I was think about building a dart tank and was woundering if fur bark is safe to use as a background rather then cork. there are a couple of local places that carry cork tubes but they don't have a flat cork, but I have tons of fur bark sheets. so my question is if fur bark is safe for potted plants in the tanks is it safe to use as a back ground? thanks

Fir bark, as well as most other conifer bark is full of resins and turpenoids that may be toxic to your frogs. It also deteriorates rapidly. I'd recommend sticking with cork bark.
