Tremper albinos

kurma Jul 21, 2003 12:38 PM

All the remper albinos I've seen are very light yello and sometimes have a hint of brown. Is this just cause they are incubated high (90)? I figure that and bloodline, I saw a photo of a tremper albino X super hypo and it was all light yellow not stunning tangerine color. I think the orange is more pretty

Yeah, Ron Tremper likes to get the brightest babies he can. SO usually his are pretty lightened.

SO If I incubated a albino tang at 90 degrees would it not have the stunning orange and have bright yellow instead?

TebbyGecko Jul 21, 2003 12:45 PM

NO, not neccessarily, if you incubated one at a higher temp. then my guess is you would get maybe a brighter tang and not a washed-out one. Just my guess because I have never done it before only read on it. You could experiment though!

Have fun!

ok I don't have room for three incuators do LOL I guess it was cause it bred a very light albino to a tang so the yellow took over?

TebbyGecko Jul 21, 2003 12:49 PM

Lol, I couldn't tell you for sure since I haven't done it! Maybe someone else knows for sure!

Tang is a line bred trait, so breeding the tang to the albino won't always result in the tangerine being passed along.
Also...not all super-hypos are tang. My super-hypo carrot tail is a bright yellow. She's not tang at all, except where it counts ^_~ Super hypo just means that the leo only has a couple of spots on its back, if not any. It doesn't mean that it has to be tangerine also. Don't be fooled into thinking all super hypos are tangs.
