Thank you for all that replied to my about breeding my male this year. I decided to go the cautionary route and start my search for a female CB be it new this year or last. Like i said, I am not in much of a hurry and have nothing but time. My male i guess isnt old enough to breed according to his size.. Any ideas how i can get some size on him, i think he may be small for his age. He is jsut short of 3 Lbs (empty) and about 4.5 feet. Today is feeding day so i figured it would be a good time to weight him. He currently feeds on a medium rat once a week. Thanks..

IMO, sounds like he's doing fine, maybe a little on the small size but no reason to try to bulk him up. Lean is not bad for a male breeder. Better a track star than a couch potato.

Now that birthing's are all done, my females are all ravenous. Will eat two 6week old med rats at a time (would swallow at the same time if they could) while the males are interested in food, maybe one similar rat, they are not wolfing down like at an expensive all you can eat buffet.
