quick pics of baby albino bairdi and adult comparison

gofer Oct 20, 2005 01:02 PM

These guys really change as they grow, just as the normals do. The colors on the adult albinos are really something to see in person. I have a picture of some baby Davis Mt. bairdi that i will try to post tonight when i get home. Fiesty little guys they all are... great feeders though right from the start!

Thanks for looking,

Gregg F.

Those are really neat. I thought most Bairdi were docile??? Maybe just the Amels are meanies? Cool snakes any which way

Thanks Tom, some of mine were docile but a few were not so calm, hahaha. The babies seem to be more nippy but that is usual I suppose. Have a good weekend Tom,

Gregg

I have not seen this phase in person but from the pics they look more Hypo than albino. What do you think from personal experience. Are the eyes dark??

The reason I ask is the hypo glades I work with are often called albino when they are clearly not when you see them in person but pics could give you that impression. Is this the case here or are these definitely albino?? either way they are killer but I am just really curious. I picked up my first this year and now I am up to a 2.2 group.

I may need a pair next year of this phase.

Hello Jason,
Thanks for the great comments, greatly appreciated. They resemble hypos to me also, but the adults really seem to be albino to me more then hypos (imho). I have talked to the breeder of my adults about this same thing and they eyes do appear more pink/red in person, just very hard to catch with a camera. The eyes aren't like you would see on one of my albino sonorans, but still look pink to me in person. That is a nice looking hypo glades, congrats on that and thanks for posting a pic of it, very good looking snakes. I don't have any here, but they are on my wish list for the future. Good luck with your new bairdi, and have a good weekend Jason,

Gregg F.

Thanks. I have talked to one other breeder about these and he said the same as you. They are very nice and I should have never looked at them. With all the subtle colors in the normal phase the albinos are a very exciting morph for me. Your post has more than likely cost me 2-4 more cages. Thanks A lot

Glad i could help you out with the extra cages Jason, hahaha, that happens to me all the time. I plan on having a lot of new cages by the end of hibernation this year and ready to add on next spring with some new residents in those cages! Contact me next year if you still want some of these and i'll send my friend an e-mail for you.

Have a good one,

Gregg
