jeune18 Oct 20, 2005 04:00 PM

after thinking all week, i finally have a name for the little booger. it is a nahuatl word-- xocoyotzin which means the revered youngest child but it will be xoco for short.
and for the pronunciation it is sho-co-yo-tzeen, but the nickname is "sho-co"

well, it's not like i went searching that deep. i am in a nahuatl class right now for my masters degree. one of the requirements to graduate was taking a second foreign language that was spoken in latin america.
but you know more of nahautl then you think. words like tomato, guacamole, chili and tamali have their roots in that language

Oh! What a lovely name! She will have quite a bit to grow into, but it is beautiful. Thank you for the pronunciation help, and the nickname!

Late congratulations on your new baby. He/she is adorable. I love your new name. Can't wait to tell my kids, they think some of my names are hard to pronounce. LOL I'm sure you will have lots of fun with your new baby and it will be great to see how he grows.
