Dying turtle

WickedScrote Oct 20, 2005 04:51 PM

I came home this evening and found my one turtle (I have 3) floating beside the filter (which he usually does). I wouldn't have given him a second glance except I noticed he was positioned funny so I moved the filter a little and he just fell out. This is when I thought my baby was dead. But then he swam to the middle of the tank, but slower than usual. I fed them like normal but noticed only the other 2 were eating. When I looked in the tank for the third, I noticed he was in the corner, upside down. Okay so again I thought he was dead but then again he moved a little but looks like he's injured. I don't see any wounds though. I reached in to pick him up to move him to the basking rock and he swam real fast to the other corner but then allowed me to pick him up. I expected to feel a soft shell but it's hard as a rock. Now he has been lying on the basking rock for about 45 minutes with no movement but his eyes are open. Now the other 2 are laying next to it. Is he just tired or sick and dying...or could it be a she and could she be pregnant? I have no idea! Please help!

you really need to get him to a reptile vet asap. look in the yellow pages and if none of the ads say they do reptiles, start calling to see if any do or would. im not sure what is wrong with him.
