I would skip all the lights, except maybe a 40 or 60 watt normal housebulb if you want to have lighting during the day if this is in fact a glass acquarium. Use a under tank heater (on a rheostat or thermostat to control heat, or a human heating pad, providing the tank isnt' a heavy one, if it is, (ie glass), prop up the two corners of the tank on one end (over the heating pad), just make sure the human pad has a low/med/high settings so you can adjust the heat. I also recommend putting it on a timer, so it isnt' on 24/7 (it can be on 4 hours, off 4 hours, on 6, etc)
The coil can be tossed out, not sure if that is safe to use (the cocconut stuff), paper towel or aspen shavings are fine. A good temp gun or digital thermometer to test temp directly over the heating pad, and in the cool end (either have the probe on the hot part of the tank, and the main unit elsewhere in the tank, or just have two probes)
