This will be my first season to breed balls, and I'm so excited about all that is going on.

For this year, I have:
0.5 normal breeders (1600g )
1.0 proven breeder Matrix Pastel.

Obviously, being a pastel breeder isn't my end-all goal, but it's to build a cool collection using the income from what I produce (I'm not looking to live off my balls).

What are the opinions of experience out there as to what morphs would be a good second step (I'm assuming recessives) for this next year?

The obvious is to work with what you like (and can afford)! A recessive project may be nice if you've got the time and inclination, maybe something you can mix in with the pastel if you want to work on mixes - or how bout a spider for bumble bees in a couple of years? Theres a lot you can do - but definately go with what you like and waht you want to work with.

LOL, what do you want to own?? We have a het ghost and a het pied cause I like ghosts and pieds and would eventually like to cross the two. We got a pair of het albino's cause my hubby loves the yellow and white and we got a pastel poss het ghost cause I love pastels when mixed with other morphs and they aren't bad all on their own It is hard to say what someone else should get cause it all depends on what you like. We are hoping to get a spider next year, I want bees! We're also planning on clowns in the future too.

I agree with Tasha, work with what YOU like. I think a spider would be a logical addition to anyone working with pastels.If you`re thinking recessive i`d recommend getting into ghosts.They`re not too expensive and demand is still exceding supply.Good luck with your pastel. Mark BallPython777.com
