I was just coming over to ask a similar question. I've been feeding my beardie crickets since I got her about 9 months ago. I'd guess she's about a year old. One thing I've noticed is that she doesn't eat crickets like she used to. 5 months ago, she might eat 50 in one 'sitting' with plenty of enthusiasm. Now, she eats maybe 10, only chasing the first couple and waitng for the last few to wander into her mouth. Anyways, I'm guessing this all means that she's getting to the age when she doens't need as many and she'll hopefully start eating more salad (even though she eat's quite a bit as is.) First of all does that mean that she's done growing, or has the rate just slowed down. She's only about half the size I thought she would be. Second. I'm moving at the end of the month and would like to get rid of crickets all together. The smell, the sound, finding them all over the place. I have to admit, in retrospect, I probably never would have purchased something that eats crickets if I knew what I was in for. (All though, I DON'T regret it.) Anyways, I'm looking for a substitute for the crickets. I'm not going to do roaches, silkworms are to expensive, and I'm not sure about 100% supers. Also I've tried the pellet thing. Three different brands, and if I even hide some in her salad, she won't touch the entire salad all day. But I did find that the crickets love the pellets. Anyways, what are my options to have a cricket free diet. I suppose if I have to, I can just give her plenty of salad, and ever couple of days (maybe twice a week) get her a dozen crickets and a dozen supers (this way I don't have to keep them around). What do you guys think. (Oh I suppose then I should transfer my cricket coating procedure to the salad right??)
