Did this ever happen?

I just got my first corn about a week ago. A normal baby. Actually I had a couple of corns a few years back but had to give them away when I got my apartment. Now I own my very own home so I decided to get my feet wet again. Anyways, my question is: tonight while handling him he decided to take a leap from my hands. He fell about 4 feet to a carpeted floor. He didn't try to bolt away from me so I snatched him up quickly. He seems to be fine, but I was just wondering if there could be any problems? He's a mellow snake and in the week I've owned him, hasn't tried anything like that. Maybe he just got spooked or something.

Yes, it happens, and could potentially be injured from that height--but they usually fair pretty well.
