Market for Piebald mice as high end snake food...

primevalbeauty Oct 20, 2005 11:06 PM

I've been working on a strain of piebald mouse for use as a potential food for high end ball morphs. What do you think?
Maybe a slogan like " Feed your piebald only the best ... piebald mice" I'm thinking around ten dollars apiece on them. What do you think is there a market?

Because that was the dumbest thing I've ever seen on this forum.

People pay to have piebald snakes, not piebald mice.
I would never waste my money on a piebald mouse unless I wanted to keep it as a pet.
Just sell them as normal feeders, or maybe a tiny bit more, but there is no need to ask for $10 for them...

Good luck with that, I guess.

You guys are way to uptight about the whole thing. Smile life's too short!
(Yes it's a joke)

Considering how many interestingly mundane questions that come thru this forum, it's hard to tell who is serious and who is not.

They are cute though, but kind of low white, huh?

Play with it. Genetics are fun!

I've noticed since working with them the trait seems similar to piebaldism in balls low white parents have started producing higher white offspring. It is fun. Not sure why I breed for traits in the feeders the snakes don't seem to appreciate the colors, patterns, or lack there of.

Actually, now that you mention it, I've been feeding my snakes a lot of Blue hooded and Dumbo eared rats. Those will fetch a good 12-15 bucks at the pet store.
