Hello fellow ball python lovers

Hi Everyone,
My name is William Wohlers, and though I'm not new here, I just haven't been around in 2 years or so. I use to keep and breed many types of boids (including a few morphs of ball pythons), and some lizards as well. A huge collection and a business mindset caused me to get burned out, so I sold my whole collection. I am now back, and trying my go at it again, but this time I want to focus on just royal pythons. That combined with a managable collection should make this a fun experience once again. Right now I currently have around 15 female ball pythons, ranging in size from 100 grams to 2500 grams. I am waiting for a few perfect males before I want to make my collection grow. Oh well I just wanted to say hello and tell you guys/girls that I will be lurking. I will have a pic of myself and my collection within the next few days to help me get better aquainted. PS Im an eligible bachelor if there are any snake loving females out there =)

Stay away from the price wars and marketing side and the hobby should remain enjoyable.

Sounds like you've a plan & a narrower focus this time, that should help. Best Wishes!

They just cannot resist them. My wife with a pair of Sulcata's.

She is not a huge snake fan, but loves the torts, we are up to 280 or so balls and with the last group of adult/subadult Sulcata's we are now up to 54 Torts. Do it for the love of the animals. My only burnout point comes to rodents. I cannot produce enough and in Tampa I cannot buy enough to feed everyone.

Take care and welcome back

Let her hold the money at the reptile show from all the sales of your offspring.

Once a year she will love your reptile hobby!

I can tell you that there probably aren't that many women out there that do it on thier own (i.e. not married), but I am one and I love my snakes! They are out there, you just have to keep your eye out!

But, suggestion on dates with new women, don't mention animals (snakes in general) unless she does first, cause lots of people don't understand... I'm sure you know that.

Welcome and good luck!

Mention the snakes.
For starters, if they are so close minded as to not date you because of snakes, forget about them. They aren't even worth it.

Also, lots of times when I mention snakes they may be frightened by the idea but they are curious. Many a time have I mentioned my snakes, only to be replied with a "can I see them?". Take the ladies to the house, show them the pretty snakes, if they're daring enough let them hold one. Most girls actually find the snakes interesting if you don't force them to touch one or watch it eat against their will.

Now if you want a task-Convince a girl to go camping outdoors on a herp trip with no toilets. If you find a lady like that, then you have it made.

If she isn't going to date a guy cause of his hobby don't bother. My advice is to look at the reptile shows and reptile society meetings. Of course most of us reptile loving girls are snatched up early Its cause we are so dang good looking LOL....

Cole my hubby and I seem to be in the wrong situation, I try to take mine out on a trip and he's the one going "what no hotel????" LOL, the daughters though could care less, as long as there are critters to find they are happy, in another 20 yrs they will make some young herper guy happy

Did you get your hubby into the snakes or was he already into them?

I brought him in, was always into herps but didn't get any till we were already together anyway. Then I got a couple corns as pets and then discovered ball pythons Was really easy though to get the hubby on board. Just showed him a post by Jeff Favelle on why spending $10,000.00 on Ball Pythons was better than using it as a down payment on a house. LOL, my husband is a business man and understood the investment potential and to top it off his partner (moi) is more than happy to feed, clean and care for all the animals
