Hey Chris,
I am VERY happy to see that you bought another cham. However, a one month old is VERY difficult to keep for a begginner. But, don't stress it. Chances are that he doesn't have anything in his eye. Just cause he is rubbing it on a branch doesn't mean that there is something stuck in it. However, even if there was, I wouldn't "bounce the water stronger". A one month old cham is very delicate. If you wish to try again, see to it that the water hitting the plant is very, very light. I would definetly bring him to the vet. Explain to the vet what is happening, and he will probably perscribe baytril or some other similar antibiotic. This might help, but once again, with a cham that small it will be very difficult. If you only bought the cham in the last few days, if it is a reputable seller who sold him to you, it shouldn't be that difficult asking him for a refund. He could have came in this condition, or it could be from your own husbandry procedures. Make sure to keep the cage very clean, have no glass on any sides of the enclosire, clean it everyday, ect. so that the bacteria has no place to form. Let us know how it turns out!!!
