WEEK IN REVIEW

toshamc Oct 21, 2005 06:51 PM

*******Week in Review *****

Will lead off this week with a “By request Image” – meant to get it into last weeks WIR but somehow missed – must have been the cold medicine.

"So do you come here often"

We found out this week that the Super Spotnose had a fatal fall and is no longer with us. Very Sorry Tracy and VPI – hope we see a few more of them next year!

Rest In Peace Pretty One

The illustrious Mr. Smith managed to cross an albino ball with a corn snake for which the Nigerian government decided it was going to start cracking down on internet scams so Mr. Smith has sunk to having to use the TTY service to continue to do business in the US.

Before:

After:

7 eggs – I guess that myth about albinos only producing small clutches isn’t entirely true after all. BTW Daddy was an Axanthic PH Snow

Time Saving Tips on Water Bowls and Quick Cage Cleaning thanks Jay for starting these – great ideas! This is what this forum is about – well and for feeling elitist and poking fun at newbies! Hope you all are keeping track.

Belly Heat V Back Heat – I think bellies won it – clear, striped, markered and normal!

No one could produce a picture of a granite morph for me ??? Argggg - never send a man to do a womans job I guess.

To feed lizards or not to feed lizards that is the question …. Um – no.

How to tell if your mice have worms – I don’t even want to go there – “if they don’t look 100% healthy put them out of their misery and buy something fresh” – that is my sadistic moto.

Yes it’s the end of October and snakes are going off feed some with cooling help some without. There’s nothing you can do about it! Enjoy the extra $$$$ that you don’t have to spend on rats.

Someone shared a nice looking normal – didn’t ask if it was het for anything and didn’t get ridiculed for posting it! Baby Steps, Baby Steps, Baby Steps

Tom produced a perfect clutch of 4 eggs and 4 Mojaves! Congrats Tom now send that little girl my way …

Het Pied Markers were brought up again this week – this time we were wondering if any possible hets with the markers didn’t prove – I think we really need a study on this. Anyone interested in putting together a het pied marker study let me know maybe we can put this thing to bed.

Parental Guidance Suggested more snake having sex pictures …

Ball Pythons Sleep All Day

Breeding Loans – don’t do it unless it’s someone you know and really really really trust.

We dragged out the possible het debate again – that’s 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back – lets reiterate what we discussed last week – unless one of the parents is a homozygous snake then you have a 50/50 chance that that snake you picked up from a pair of hets or possible hets snakes is actually a het. Lets not dwell on percentages you have hets and possible hets end of story.

While everyone else is starting their breeding season there are a few stragglers finishing theirs:

Congrats Tony!

Piebald Mice as high end snake food – LOL – yeah right this crowd preferred the $10 snake in the Tiffanys ad over the $15K necklace. Wrong bunch to pitch Gucci to.

Plumbers find snake in Toilet – classic – “i wish my toilet produced herps for me! it be like christmas every time you have to pee!” Sweet concept lets work on that! Tho they might eat that Tidy Bowl dude.

Delta Sucks!!!! Good luck trying to get your money back from them after they squished your snake. Sorry man – that sucks. Hopefully the seller will make good.

Pastels: Jungle – Lemon – Blonde – Florescent

Speaking of Pastels - Ryan posted a male pastel that he acquired in a trade for sale this week. It wasn’t a really good-looking pastel – average market value on it would be about $500 – Ryan didn’t really need it so he posted it for an insane amount of $475. Boy did he get raked over the coals for it. Some people went so far as to call this perfectly acceptable healthy eating snake junk. Aw well – what are you going to do – for those of you wondering what the pastel market is like apparently some of the bigger people believe that it can’t sustain one person selling a pastel $25 below market value. For those of you who where slower than the moderators it was a nice little debate.

Anyone interested in having a Halloween Costume Contest? I mean the snakes of course!

Images Images Images

As if it wasn't enough to have to fight over the remote with the kids now we've got the snakes requesting Animal Planet and Mickey Mouse!

Have a Good Weekend!!!!!!

Tracy had requested that the details about the Superspotnose not become mainstream knowledge. Whoever outed the details should be whipped, unless they like it. These tidbits of info should only be released by the breeder or not at all, following their wishes. This occured months ago and should have been relegated to history.

RandyRemington Oct 21, 2005 08:47 PM

It's probably for the best. I was starting to worry it might be homozygous lethal (I’m to the point of assuming that until proven otherwise now days). Tragic accident but better than an unexplained death.
