paper water dragon!!!

to find out what my male wd saturns intentions are with headbobbing at my girl tethys are whether theyre dominance, coourting, or territorial. i went on my computer and took a pic of tethys full body split it in half then made each half as big as a sheet of paper then i mirrored the images so i could staple it to the images that were already in half. so basically to make a long story short i made an exact model of tethys. the model is 5 1/4" svl and 19 1/4 " stl. i put the model in with saturn and in seconds tail flick head bob head bob he ran to the model. he bit on to the models neck and held on and tryed to manuever his vent area under the models vent area although being made of paper and cardboard he could not. So does this sound like an act of trying to mate to all of you guys?

P.S. when a pair of water dragons mates, Does the male hold on to the females nuchal (neck) crest?

Oh yeah. He is ready to mate. That is exactly what Neptune did to Mysty when he was ready. He does hold onto her crest. It helps him get her in the right position, it looks very difficult. Guess it works or they would not survive in the wild. He has not tried in a while that I have saw; I guess they only mate every so often. She is becoming a little more dominate since she had her eggs. Hope this helps.
