Food for hatchling House Gecko

JakeTakeoko May 18, 2003 11:56 AM

I just saved a house gecko hatchling from PetCo. It seems to be in good health, and doesn't have any external parasites. It is in a 3.5 gallon plastic quarantine cage which is placed inside a regular 10 gallon. This is my first House Gecko, so I'm not too sure what to feed the hatchling. There are no pinhead crickets within 50 miles of where I live, so should I use ants or other outside insects? I know for a fact that there are no pesticides in the area, and I live at the top of a hill, so no runoff water could carry chemicals or anything to my yard. I would never use insects from outside, but I guess I have no choice since there are no other sources. I am going to order pinhead crickets from american cricketranch.com but need something to feed my hatchling in teh mean time. I'm relatively a newbie, since my only experience is having a pair of green anoles.
