Where to find new Incandescent Bulb supplier?

7serpents Oct 22, 2005 05:20 AM

For yrs I have been purchaseing cases of 10ea 50 watt red spot bulbs for $25.00 (T-REX,ZooMed, EXO-Terra) from Pet Supply Liquidator until rescently. This is due to wrong items being sent and NO Customer Service Response by telephone/email/PayPal Complaint. My last order for two cases of 50 watt Red ZooMed Spot Bulbs is bad-they sent me two cases of 150 watt Red-no response at all from Customer Service again-returned items via Priority Mail/Insured/Delivery Confirmation and hope they send my orginal 20 ea (two cases) of the Red Spot bulbs or I must go through USPS to recover my $50.00 worth of product. I am now looking another supplier who will match case price or close to it.

Anyone who knows good Customer Service Company with good prices please list.

They probally can't match your price but probally do wholesale. I use Big Apple Herp. for all my products and never have a problem and when I did they took care of it right away. Sometimes you just have to let something good go.

The value of good Customer Service and reliability is worth far more than saving a few dollars. Or the reapative costs to the Customer for Company mistakes or the time wasted to resolve the issue.

That is so TRUE. I used to work for a phone co that had the attitude of "Who cares about the customer" .
I rather pay a few dollars more and have things done once and done right than a headache as life is to short and I am to busy.

thank you for the info. I will be emailing companies for quotes and checking customer service. Never again will I purchase from Pet Supply Liquidator; after yrs of purchasing the last several months say it all. I have returned the 20 ea 150 watt Red spot bulbs and hope they sent correct 50 watt in exchange for their mistake which is costly in shipping for me. So I don't mind paying a little higher price for excellent Service.

By the way the 50 Watt Red Spot bulbs are used as heat source at basking site for BTS & Geckos with Tile and Frank Retes stacks to maintain belly heat and thermal regulation. This has worked for me for three yrs. Melamine cages really hold the heat with low wattage bulbs and my Vision cages (with 12" x 12" tiles" keep my BTS nicely regulated. I am also going to be checking prices on UVB/UVA florescents with these Companies. I want a perment Customer relationship with a Company I can rely on for Customer Service. Mistakes happen but good Customer Service resolves these problems immediately. And since I buy all lighting every 4 to 6 months using good communication skills, pay in full, and arrange shipping I am glad to work with any Company that stands behind thier products/Customer care.

Thank you for the information and any future information to come.

That guy is very nice and honest. I buy from him .
I was starting out didnt know much he could have sold me a lot of things I didnt need but he didnt. I realize that now that I know more as the first email I sent him was asking what I needed for my new turtle set up as I only had the tank.
I think its a one man run bussiness as the same person always emails me back when I ask shipping for a particular order as I send him money orders.

The Main Point is the Company (whether sole or empoyees) is that the Company will not respond to my numerous emails, voicemails, Faxes with Order Copy-transaction ID#-customer contact & shipping information! 8 days is 8 days too long while orders still leave there. The Wrong Items Sent Package "Confirmed Delivery" at 10:01 am today. He (Bruce) needs to stand behide his own policies and sent me the correct Bulbs originally Ordered. And I had to pay to sent back to him/Insured of Course where he should have sent a Return Tag as it is his Company which messed up. And I find NO REASON What so ever why my Compaints were never answered-no posting or messages closed or out of town. While a friend of mine place an Order for 1 light bulb Tuesday which arrived Friday; I want PSL to explain this and an applogy would be in order.

Bottom line is PSL gets the "Bad Guy" seal of approval for business. After yrs of dealing with the Company this is intolerable at any level. Now if my bulbs are not sent I will involve the USPS as products were returned from original order. Also I did email the Company I will be posting my Complaint on websites while I look for New Company who stands behind their policies and deliveries. I can understand a wrong item once in a great while but to be ignored, out more $ than if I went with New Company. Others need to know that this company ethics do not exsit, the policies mean nothing, their Customer Service only exists to make money to resolve issues with the customer!

I agree with what your saying. I have other hobbies like surfing and just a lot of sports, etc and I buy a lot over the internet and I must say the reptile hobby seems to have the worse customer service and scam companies/people out of any hobby I have.
I havent had reptiles to long either and yet I find this to be true just terrible customer service and problems.

Unfortunately we the Customers must weed out the "BAD GUY" Companies. I am a member of faunaclassifieds.com where anyone can check post (Called BOI) where paying members post inquires or Bad Customer Service Companies/Scammers Complaints. Also the Companies posted are made full aware of complaint to be posted there so they may respond. Many are good to big names but crap on the little guy.

Even after yrs with a Company one must change to a new Company who will provide excellent service long term. I have recieved a few emails from companies who I will correspond with during the week. I feel obligated to make others aware of Bad Business so they don't get Scammed either. Its' like doing a complete background check on every company one wants to deal with and at the same time keep transactions in check while doing transactions. But there are several good companies who do not get the recognition for their quality of service and many long term companies who haven't been used by customers yet. So I keep trying and won't allow any high dollar sales except in person on site.
