lost tail

jgaeta Oct 22, 2005 09:56 AM

I have two juvie cresties in a 24"x18"x18" terrarium they always have food. I came home yesterday night at 10PM and they were goofing off as usual just hanging around and swingin through vines. Then at midnight the smaller of the two was missing his tail. Could they have fought and the bigger one eaten it? Am I doing something detrimental? Neither one has developed testies so I don't think its territorial males or am I wrong? What should I do?

somtimes there's just one stinker crested that decides it wants some moving food, so it will attack another. i was keeping 6-8 cresteds in 10 gallong aquariums until they were a couple months old, until i came home and 3 of their tails were dropped and laying on the ground.
i'm pretty sure i figured out which one did it, and have " him" off by himself. atleast with beardies i know usually the meanest one of the group will be a male, so i'm kind of guessing that's what this one will be.
