Monkey grass / Liriope safe for Sulcata?

I have an area that I am looking into putting my little guy into, it has a thick area of Monkey grass / liriope in it. My question is would it be safe to leave it there or would you suggest digging it all up so he will not consume any of it?

I have not read anything on this being bad or good..
