Mosca is still a babie, having just recently turned 14 months old. He is about 9 inches long. His personally is skittish now, though he was very friendly when I first got him. My other uro was ill when Mosca first arrived and I did not have the chance to spend as much time with Mosca as I would have liked, so we are going through the long re-acclimation process. He doesn't mind being petted, and loved anything to do with food, but definitely is not keen on being picked up. Some of the Uros are just like that. I have not heard of a mean Uro, Egyptian or otherwise, though I am sure that somewhere there are a few.
Mosca will eventually get up to between 2 and 3 feet long (most likely), though I expect that to take some time. The 4ftx2ftx2ft cage I am hoping will last another year or so before he needs an even bigger living space, additionally he eats an incredible amount of food for his size. I always ask that people really take into consideration the long term housing and environmental needs of these animals before purchasing one, because they certainly are a commitment. Though I obviously feel it is worth it.
