Some interesting dwarf boas

aaron j casillas Oct 23, 2005 12:39 PM

I acquired 1.3 of these boas about a year ago. They were imported in 2001 as farm-raised babies out of Colombia.
Seven total were in the litter which was brought into the country at that time. These are the last ones left from the group.
They are now about 4 and 1/2 years old, and all are no longer than 3 1/2 feet long.
By the way, this one is gravid. She bred in late July, ovulated in mid-September, and should have her babies in late December/early January. I am hoping to find out the genetics behind the striping.
Enjoy,
Aaron

Here is the final female from the litter. She is the smallest of the 4.
Hope you enjoy the pictures,

I certainly hope they prove out for you! Those are some crazy looking patterns. What I can't get over is the small size of them! Vincent has been telling us about these boas that you have and I'm glad you posted the photos...gave us a chance to check them out! Definitely keep us posted on how that litter turns out and if it's not too much trouble, add us to the wait list...please!

Thanks,
Celia

Will do. These guys are smaller than Nics without the attitude.
I hope they do prove out. I will keep you informed on their progress.
By the way, great looking sunglows!

Do you recall the name of the importer? Seems odd for the area but nice to see something new perhaps.
Cheers

They were imported by Jeff Doth. They came in with the "Striated" boa.
They are quite different for Colombiams, the size is also unique.

Very interesting, the size is really appealing, put me on the list for offspring.
